We, Sharia Professionals Association (SPA), were established in Dubai (UAE) since 2016, as an annual forum which gathers Sharia Departments in Islamic Financial Institutions to discuss various topics and come up with practical resolutions and recommendations for the best practices & standards of Sharia functions in Islamic Financial Institutions.

In 2020, SPA was registered and licensed under Dubai Chamber – Dubai Association Centre as not-for-profit association that allows for exchange of best experiences & practices and offering solutions to challenges that stand in the face of developing the Islamic Financial Sector. SPA aspires to become a Platform to assist Sharia Departments within Islamic Financial Institutions, with the ambition of developing the Islamic Financial Sector at the local, regional and international levels.

SPA has launched three initiatives in the areas of Sharia Departments (i.e. Sharia Audit and Sharia Control), that includes: an annual forum, workshops and training courses. SPA is looking forward to expand its scope of activity to include other areas that serve the Islamic Financial Industry. SPA, through its vision and mission, aims to be the No. 1 Hub in setting and supporting the execution of best practices and standards for Sharia Departments in Islamic Financial Institutions.
